I would like to personally thank Marcy Fawcett my career coach who helped me be strategic in my thinking on my next career opportunity even in the face of this recession’s extreme challenges. A lot of people asked if I was working with someone; using a method or a process and why as I have strong networking and job search skills. My answer is Many great leaders and pros have a coach! ". Marcy has been invaluable to me through the year in cataloging my interests, job strengths, developing my career plan, keeping me laser focused, thinking through various scenarios and on course.

With Marcy’s help, I was able to land the executive level position in clean tech for a high growth company that we had profiled as part of our early exercises to target the desired next career step versus settling for any job! I would highly recommend having a career coach even when you have a job, and clearly with something as important as your career, my choice will be Marcy Fawcett!

My own career change might exemplify a complex and sharp professional transition. Marcia Fawcett played a key and invaluable role in coaching me towards success in my career change, and both personal and professional growth. She is observant and keenly aware of both the details and the larger context of her client’s situations. Her questions to me were always incisive and thought provoking. They did not always or even generally make me comfortable, but searching to answer them was a valuable learning exercise. Marcy helped me grow, learn and expand my thinking, and understanding. She is a visionary and has my deepest respect and admiration. I would enthusiastically recommend her services to any leader or executive in transition, or an executive seeking greater personal and professional growth.

As a former client, I found Marcy to be a much needed source of motivation and consistency during a very challenging time. As a career coach for senior executives, she helps you to develop a clear focus and strategy and bring a structured process to the job search process. Marcy helped to cut through years of experience with multiple employers to identify the key elements that made me successful in the past and develop a successful marketing strategy for today’s marketplace. Great Results, High Integrity, Creative

Marcy coached me through a recent career change. Having a diverse background in many industries made it difficult for me to know what direction I wanted to go. She gave me a customized approach and coaching me through the process that drilled through the years of experience to core skill sets and helped me identify my preferences and priorities for going forward. The she coached me through steps to do the analysis of what parts of my experience made me marketable in the new areas I decided to target. I had no idea how difficult it was to condense a 25 year career into a concise two page resume, but Marcy made it possible and the resume worked really well! I love my new career and it offers many outstanding opportunities. Thank you again for your assistance and please feel free to use me a professional reference.

Marcy was instrumental in coaching me through the process of finding a new career. I didn’t know what I wanted to do next, just that it was time for a change. Marcy gave me process steps to see what the options might be, helped me think this through and evaluate what the differences would be so I could decide what my preferences were going forward. Once I made the decisions, she coached me through the entire process of getting here, step by step. Marcy is energetic, driven, driving; approachable, friendly, empathetic, and was always focused on ensuring my success. She always worked to ensure that I was thinking things through clearly, and that I didn’t loose the focus. She challenged me in writing, but the resulting resume is worlds above the one with which I started. I’m convinced it created opportunities for me that I would not have had otherwise. Marcy kept me energized and motivated to get out there, and make the calls, but she also knew when to back off, give things a break, and even when to help repair a bruised ego (happens to the best of us in a job search!)

I have started an independent consulting business after many years of working for corporations. Only time will tell if it is truly successful, but so far I believe I am making meaningful contributions and I am truly enjoying what I am doing. Marcy has been and continues to be a coach and confidante, and an essential part of my career growth.

Since working with Marcy in 2003, I have found her executive coaching practice to be highly motivational and rewarding, owing to extensive subject knowledge and networking contacts, leading to successful business introductions and strong ROI to all of her clients

I’ve known Marcy for almost 3 years and have found her to be incredibly well-connected, consistently responsive, and all-in-all a pleasure to deal with. She has a tremendous amount of experience in her field and combines that with a common-sense approach that makes every conversation with her valuable.

Marcy brings a wealth of knowledge about the changing environment for job searches. She keeps current with changes in hiring strategies and kept me on track to meet my personal goals. She taught me the importance of developing a job search plan and sticking to it. She pushed me to think outside of my comfort zone and evaluate where I wanted to take my career. She listened to me and gave constructive criticism to help guide me though the job search process.
The importance of networking to the job search process was impressed upon me and that is what ultimately helped me land my current position. Once the offer was made, Marcy coached me throughout the hiring process and shared insightful and helpful perspectives. Marcy’s support and guidance allowed me to have a relatively pain-free job search and negotiations. Thanks again, Marcy, for your insightful and encouraging guidance.

I have known Marcy for over 9 years, and have found her to be extremely knowledgeable about the job search process. Her energy, enthusiasm and many long-term business relationships results in very high quality service and introductions for her clients.

I’ve known Marcy for several years. She was a huge help to me when I was on a job search a few years back. Her energy and enthusiasm, along with a genuine interest in understanding exactly what I was looking for really helped me keep my search focused and energized.. Along the way, a few seemingly interesting assignments came my way and she was a terrific coach and sounding board. Her open and frank input about these tempting opportunities helped me to realize why they weren't necessarily the best fit for me. This really helped me to be honest with myself and hold out for the right opportunity. Marcy's professional approach and detailed knowledge of the transition process will help you find the best opportunities and make sure you present yourself in the most favorable light.

After a successful executive marketing career in the technology industry I was faced with the need to assess my capabilities and transition to a new position in a very challenging job market. At first, I thought I was well prepared and had the necessary skills to secure a new position on my own, but fortunately I had the opportunity to work with Marcy. Marcy was exceptional and invaluable, pushing me to a much more strategic level of preparation and thinking throughout the process. I truly enjoyed working with Marcy. As she rapidly understood my strengths, weaknesses and interests, she became a trusted level of support and guidance. As a coach she was able to balance encouragement, while providing critical, insightful comments and challenges that pushed my thinking and approach to the next level. She was invaluable in helping me focus and execute on my career goals, from developing a tight focused resume, to negotiating and accepting the offer. She also introduced me to some great people in the process. Marcy, thank-you so much!

My reference (whether written or verbal) would include Marcy’s abilities to motivate, lead, suggest, network, criticize, cajole and most importantly provide hope. I recall our afternoon gatherings and joke about next in the “pit” – it was always with a sense of learning, achievement and improvement – she was never hesitant to challenge!! I have only fond memories of those times in spite of riding the roller coaster. Marcy was able to depict, in advance, the emotional experience/exercise I would encounter as an executive looking for his next career opportunity. Marcy saw accepted and challenged by not only the those with egos and confidence, but also those with doubt and hesitation.

Marcy is one of those rare executive coaches with incredible talent and insights on career management and progression, wide ranging contacts and ability to connect, practical resources and tools for effective assessments and career planning, coupled with enthusiasm and strong commitment to client success.

I first worked with Marcy Fawcett when needing a career change after the infamous bursting of the Internet bubble. She shared her unique understanding of the underlying processes and psychology involved in professional networking. Marcy doesn’t just teach the basics of networking, but helps you understand how/why the techniques she recommends will be more effective. We’ve stayed in contact through the years, and she continues helping me with valuable advice and introductions as I grow my business.
