 Marcia A. Fawcett is the Founder and Principal of The Fawcett Group, an executive career management firm. The unique and high impact work of Ms. Fawcett draws upon an unusual blend of education and the insight gained from both corporate and consulting experiences and the perspective gained from all sides of staffing/search processes.
Having gained insight from practical experience as a corporate leader and as an organizational consultant, and later as a highly successful executive search professional, Ms. Fawcett has spent the last 15 years helping executives navigate the confusing and ever-changing job marketplace and now brings her collective learning of what it takes to be successful in corporate America with her passion for helping people to her new coaching practice focused on helping executives find success and fulfillment in their careers!
More specifically, Ms. Fawcett’s 30 year career includes leadership roles running service type environments in the retail, manufacturing, service and high tech sectors. These roles of increasing responsibilities provide her with experience and insights into keys to climbing the ladder and managing a career in a corporate environment
Ms. Fawcett’s strong interest and passion for personal career management led her to apply her learning to helping executives pursue new opportunities as a job search coach. Her work in this area was noted regionally and nationally including being interviewed by and appearing on an NBC national news Tom Brokaw program in 1992.
Her impact as a career coach led to her role as vice president for Drake Beam Morin, an international career management consulting firm. Managing corporate engagements and personally delivering consulting services to executives, her work impacted executives across multiple sectors and contributed to successful career explorations and job changes for numerous leaders. Since that time, Marcy has worked for/collaborated with two of the largest international and two of the top regional executive career management firms.
As a successful executive search consultant, Ms Fawcett used her knowledge of the corporate decision making process along with the understanding gained as to the skills and competencies required for executives to be successful in different functions to start and build her own retainer based executive search practice. She used her superior assessment of skills, personality type and leadership style and competencies to provide exceptional fits for candidates and corporations alike. Marcy won exceptional reviews for the quality of her candidates in companies large and small, nation-wide, in multiple industry segments (financial services, high tech, retail, publishing and both for profit and non profit sectors).
In furthering her ability to provide premium services to her clients, Ms. Fawcett has complimented her career experiences with a solid foundation in assessment including her 2008 certification by the nationally acclaimed Center for Creative Leadership for use of all CCL’s 360 assessment instruments, accreditation by the Hay Group for use of their ECI/ESCI 360 assessment instruments of emotional intelligence, and APT’s advanced level certification in the use and interpretation of MBTI - Myers Briggs personality tests. She is well versed in competency development (Certified in use of Career Architect by Lominger) and Selection Management.
Marcy has a BA in psychology and Certification in Education from Thiel College, has completed work toward a master’s in Industrial & Organizational Psychology, and continues her own personal growth through certifications and studies of approaches to personal assessment and growth developed for use in career management. She is an member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the Association of Psychological Type (APTi), the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), and is a founding member of the New England Executive Resource Council (NEERC).
